DropGenie envisions gene editing at the click of a button.

We build connected hardware that bridges the digital and biological, to accelerate the pace of discovery through the generation of standardized, compatible scientific information. We equip scientists with a way to produce precisely modified cell lines on demand, through a platform that helps to make smart reagent choices and designs, executes tightly monitored experiments, and performs downstream analysis. Ultimately we're leveraging a global network of geniuses to produce high quality data that has the power to channel the right therapeutic candidates down the drug pipeline and to the right patients. DropGenie is a dynamic startup and successful candidates will flourish in a fast-paced environment.

What we're looking for

Currently, we are seeking an enthusiastic and detail orientated intern to join our growing team. The successful candidate will leverage their expertise in genetic engineering of mammalian systems to implement and perfect gene editing pipelines for application on our microfluidics device. The scientist will also work closely with our engineering team to shape the development of the microfluidics device itself across various mammalian cell types and applications.

Responsibilities

• Tissue culture of primary cells
• Generating engineered cells with our microfluidics platform
• Assess viability and functionality of mammalian cells edited on-chip via pertinent cellular assays 

Qualifications

• Currently completing a BSc or MSc in the biological sciences or graduated in December 2023
• Tissue culture experience is mandatory. Candidates with Primary cell culture experience are preferred, please highlight this experience in your application
• Experience with flow cytometry
• Detail oriented, with excellent organizational and communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to thrive as an independent contributor in a fast-paced, small startup team environment

Nice to have

• Familiar with laboratory automation
