Of German and Armenian heritage, Bill has always been a student of history, both personal and global. His Old World Santas especially reflect his roots and his deep study of the places where the real St. Nicholas began his kindly work.
Bill’s great uncle was a wood carver, and the carving skill and desire also live in Bill. Although he had admired his great Uncle Martin’s work since his boyhood days, he began his own artistry only after his young daughter asked him one day to carve her a cat.
Bill likes nothing better than to be in his studio surrounded by his tools and his stockpiles of wood, listening to Armenian music and getting lost for hours in creating something.
